Cherie Laurent’s third single for 2022, “SEX” is on fire!

Cherie Laurent,  an eclectic artist with a unique brand of music inspired by a broad variety of genres, is back with her third single release of the year, “SEX“, which she describes as a song about lust, power, desire, satisfaction and women’s sexual freedom, an anthem for women celebrating their sexuality and freedom by taking control of their own bodies and desires.

Cherie dealt with similar themes in her song for equality, “Down On Me”, released in July 2021, followed up by “Lover”, “a reminder that sometimes you just need to let your hair down and explore your sexy side”, in June this year which was aired on over 80 radio stations worldwide and received positive reviews from Scenestr, HEAVY Mag, AMNplify, Scenezine, IAMUR. Her July ’22 release, “Daddy” offers a different side to Cherie, where she opens up about regret, torment and dealing with the emotions of her lifelong struggles, seeking approval from her father who has since passed.

Speaking about her track, Cherie tells us “SEX” is “turning the wheels of centuries where women were looked down on and treated nothing more than sex objects and being the prey of men’s desire. SEX is a song about women that love taking control, being in control, and being proud of their sexuality, being powerful and making men as their sexual object as well as their prey for women’s satisfaction, lust and desire. With everything going on in the media, we are witnessing the politicians trying to drag women’s rights of their life; body and sexuality back to the dark ages.“

From a young age, Cherie immersed herself in the world of art, creation and world travel. She has a background in fashion design, acting, directing and music. She has been creating and hosting her own music and art based TV show called ‘Ma Cherie’ since 2006 and appeared in a number of popular TV Series including Xena Princess Warrior and Hercules.
