Singer-songwriter, Dean Parker, returns with second single, ‘Norah’

‘Norah’ follows the release of successful debut single ‘Smoke’, both available on all major streaming platforms.

In light of the success of his debut single ‘Smoke‘, the ‘newly solo’ Newcastle-based UK singer-songwriter, Dean Parker, released his follow up single, ‘Norah‘, today. Dean delivers a provocative combo of desire and saudade through the eyes of both child and adult, with a lyric that details a semi-romanticised version of his own course.

‘’This is an attempt to take you back in time to an era when your mother’s music collection acted as an all encompassing comfort object. As time goes on, you realise your own collection is being ever filled with those same artists, anthems and adventures. There’s a little of that in there too.’’

Dean, joined by his band, laid down what would become Norah live in the room, with the intention of capturing a single moment in time just as the song itself references. Self-written and self-produced, Norah features Sion Dungey (drums), Tyler Davies (guitar), Adrian Foulkes (bass), Emily Zago (vocals), Dan Jarvis (piano). Mixing and mastering comes courtesy of Jamie Wood (Backwoods Creek, Tom Linwood).

After years of picking for his supper as a sideman, Dean Parker is a guitar player ready to have the label ‘singer-songwriter’ slapped right at the beginning of his bio.

Born and raised in North-East England, he’s been beneficially brainwashed by the likes of Jason Isbell and Jeff Buckley, and hopes to bring some fresh happy sad to your Tuesday night jukebox. You know, the playlist you listen to when you just want to…
